Harriet & Sandy's elegant winter wedding at Dauntsey House in Bath saw atmospheric morning mist, a stunning long-sleeved wedding dress, a beautiful Britten headpiece, giant tipi and a subtle maroon and grey colour theme. Photographing in low winter light has a knack to it, and at this wedding, Tom and I decided to embrace the mood created by the mist and create atmospheric and subdued images. The gorgeous styling that Harriet and her family had painstakingly created struck a stylish balance of winter and Christmas moods. I felt Harriet had an Edwardian look in her gorgeous gown and headpiece, so I brought that influence subtly into the portraits and detail pictures, as well as making the most of the natural surroundings. The wedding was full of surprises and special moments (selfie-taking vicar above being one of my faves!) and we caught so many unique moments in our reportage style throughout the day too.
By evening everyone warmed themselves with a Proscht (Swiss Cheers), rounds of the Twelve Days of Christmas' and real log fires in the tipi. We lit these evening pictures in a way that retained the atmosphere, allowing the fairy lights, fires and sparklers to work their magic. The party really kicked off and we were right in the middle of the action, with some of the most fun an riotous dancefloor pics we've ever taken and a bouquet toss to end them all!
